Art and the Passion of the Christ (Part 2)

Lenten reflection – Part 2 2017

Dr. Eileen Kane presents ‘Art and the Passion of Christ’

Dr. Eileen Kane presents the second of three meditations during Lent. The parish is indeed privileged to have Eileen with us as not only is she an international History of Art academic (University College Dublin) but a woman of deep faith who is a Minister of the Word in her Dublin parish.

Her presentation which takes place in the church is called:
‘Art and the Passion of Christ’ and will focus on the most beautiful Maestà or Maestà of Duccio which is an altarpiece composed of many individual paintings commissioned by the city of Siena in 1308 by the artist Duccio di Buoninsegna.
