We are used to using IT language in everyday conversations – none more so than young people. So it was no surprise that Pope Francis used social media metaphors during his Mass with one and a half million young people on the final day of World Youth Day in Kraków. He advised them to “download” a good heart.  He encouraged them to remember that God’s memory was not a “hard disk” filled with files on everyone but more a compassionate heart that wants them to “erase” evil.

How positive he was to encourage them to say “no” to the narcotic of success at any cost and the sedative of worrying only about oneself and your own comfort. We hope that our young people and young adults from the parish who went on the pilgrimage had – despite sore feet from hours of walking- a memorable experience.
