MEETING THURSDAY MARCH 4th 2010 

Present: Aidan Davis, Colette Kavanagh, Ann Wafer, Breda Hand, Pat Quinn, Dermot O’Rourke, Emma Clare, Fr John Hassett, Sr. Mary Ward.

Meeting opened by Dermot.

Emma Clare was welcomed as a new member to the Pastoral Council.

Opening Prayer and reflection was led by Pat.

Uganda:
Slyvia Gavigan joined us to talk about a much forgotten Northern Uganda which has been at War for the last 22 years. She is looking for support for a clothing appeal in the Parish. Pat and Aidan agreed to work with Slyvia in organising same.

Minutes of last meeting noted and approved.

Parish update:

Fr. John to order more copies of the St. Luke Gospel booklet.  Aidan got a very positive response from several of the local shops, all agreed to display copies of same which will be available to take free of charge.

Meeting:

On Saturday March 27th a meeting of the Pastoral Councils will be held in the Spa hotel from 12md to 3pm. The  Maynooth Deanery and the Arch Bishop will be present.  Four members of our Pastoral Council agreed to attend on the day.

Nations Mass:

Mass of the Nations will be held on March 16th @ 7.30, vigil Mass.  Colette gave an update on same.

Christian Unity:

Pat is awaiting a date to suit all local Churches to meet.

Our next meeting will be at the later time of 9pm on Holy Thursday April 1st God willing!!!
