“I am the Bread of Life”

In 1973 Pope Paul VI introduced Special Ministers of the Eucharist to assist the priests with the distribution of Holy Communion.  In our Parish because of the size of the congregation at our Masses we appreciate very much the help of our Eucharistic Ministers.  They operate on a rota basis.  Their ministry enables us to distribute Holy Communion under both kinds at 7 p.m. Mass each Saturday (the Vigil Mass) in addition to their invaluable help at all the other Masses during the year.

The priests visit the sick and housebound on each First Friday with Holy Communion and offer the opportunity of the Sacrament of Penance. In addition Eucharistic Ministers bring Holy Communion to many of our sick and housebound Parishioners on each Sunday.

We appreciate very much this service being provided by the Eucharistic Ministers.
If you are sick and or housebound, and would like such a visit please contact the Parish Office at 6281018 Monday to Friday 10a.m. to 1 p.m.

Each year we train and commission new Eucharistic Ministers.  On St. Patrick’s Day 2007 eight new Ministers were commissioned at the Vigil Mass.
