Preparing for the Sacrament
Confirmation preparation involves learning, sharing, serving, fellowship, spiritual growth and fun! These lessons will enrich you and prepare you to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit in 2021. Each lesson is approximately 15 to 20 minutes long and can be taken at any time throughout the year.
The 9 Lessons
The following 9 lessons cover questions you may have about your faith, such as “what is the bible”, “who is the Holy Spirit” and “what is the Ceremony of Light”.
Lesson 1: This lesson explores how the Bible came to be. The Bible is how God communicates his word to us
Lesson 2: We learn that the Holy Spirit is how God empowers us to do his work.
Lesson 3: We learn how the apostles received the gift of the Holy Spirit on the first Pentecost.
Lesson 4: We learn that “we” are the church and take a look at what this means.
Lesson 5: We learn about the sacraments of Initiation, Healing and Service.
Lesson 6: We learn that Confirmation is confirming the commitment made by our parents in Baptism.
Lesson 7: We hear about the graces we receive from the Spirit.
Lesson 8: We learn that when we allow ourselves to be guided by the spirit his fruits are evident in our lives.
Lesson 9: We learn about the Ceremony of Light and the promises you will be asked to make.
